GeoRugby is a free daily game that tests how well you know the rugby world map. Five questions a day, one pin on the map each — the closer you are, the more you score.
What is GeoRugby?
Every day everyone gets the same five rugby geography questions. A famous Test ground, a club's home town, a World Cup venue — each question asks you to find its place on a world map. Tap where you think it is, lock in your guess, and we show you the real spot and how many miles you were off. A perfect answer scores 1,000 points, so a perfect day is 5,000.
Because everyone plays the same five questions, you can compare scores with mates, your club, or the whole player base on the leaderboard — without spoilers. Your results are shared as a colour grid only; answers are never revealed.
Why we built it
Rugby fans argue about geography constantly — where a club actually plays, how far a stadium is from its city centre, which tier that town sits in. GeoRugby turns that into a quick daily habit: five questions, a couple of minutes, a running streak. It's a Wordle-style ritual for people who love the map side of rugby.
Free, and no sign-up to play
You can play today's round without creating an account — progress is kept on your device. If you want your history, streaks and stats to follow you across devices, an optional free account does that.
Where the questions come from
Questions are written for GeoRugby and reviewed by an editor before they appear. Each answer is checked against reliable sources, and clues are written to describe the place — not to name it. Future rounds are prepared in advance and stay hidden until their day.
Community rounds and mini-leagues
GeoRugby also hosts creator and community rounds — special themed days arranged with their creators, reviewed before they go live and credited on the day they're played. You can also set up private mini-leagues for your club, team, office or group chat, with a weekly table built from daily results.
Independence
GeoRugby is an independent project. It is not affiliated with World Rugby or any national union, competition, club or stadium. Place names and venues are referenced for the purposes of the game only.
